As a two time Emmy Award-­winning broadcast journalist and news anchor with over 40 years of experience in media, Rudy is not only an expert on tejano music, he lives the tejano culture!  As host of the South Texas based “Domingo Live!” a weekly variety program on the ABC TV affiliate KIII, which includes a Rudy Trevino’s- Tejano Gold Countdown Top Ten, Rudy brings tejano to over 250K viewers each week. Rudy is also a news anchor for KIII- ABC TV and brings his unique perspective to the news. Throughout his career, Rudy has been featured in several national publications including: Time Magazine, Hispanic Business, Nuestras Vidas- A Magazine for the Hispanic Family, Billboard Magazine and more. Hispanic Business Magazine recognized Rudy as the Hispanic Business Entrepreneur of the Year for 1997, one of his most cherished honors. He has also been featured in newspapers throughout the country, including San Antonio Express-­News and The Houston Chronicle and continues to be voted Corpus Christi Caller-Times “Best Talk Show Host” by his fans. Rudy has been recognized numerous times by various local, state, and national agencies. Rudy Treviño is the recipient of the South Texas Music Awards Outstanding Radio & TV Broadcaster Award (2011) and received the Tejano R.O.O.T.S. Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award (2011). In May of 2013 the Texas Senate recognized Rudy Trevino’s-Tejano Gold Countdown as The Official Tejano Countdown for the State of Texas.

Kelly Trevino- Owner of The Platinum Group Agency and Trevino Communications, Kelly manages all aspects of marketing, website and music management for Tejano Gold Countdown.  Kelly’s career began as a Morning Show Host with KRYS-FM (K99), soon taking on the Promotions Director role- planning station events and acting as artist concierge. Throughout her career Kelly has worked as Morning Talent, Promotions Director and Program Director at Clear Channel Communications, (now iHeart Media) Tejas Broadcasting and Convergent Broadcasting. Kelly made ratings history  when she ranked number one in all age group demographics got her show in 2005 and received the honor of Radio Host of the Year in 2006.

Kelly began a career in freelance work with non-profits, beginning a career as the Texas State Aquarium Capital Campaign Coordinator and Signature Events Director. Kelly went on to work the Girl Scouts of Greater South Texas as a Marketing Director, tackling the task of communications to volunteers and members. Kelly was also the Girl Scout Spokesperson and media relations. Kelly continues to volunteer with Girl Scouts, helping further their mission as a Troop Leader.

As Better Business Bureau’s (BBB) Regional Director, Kelly helped business owners and consumers by encouraging and supporting best business practices in the marketplace, while addressing substandard marketplace behavior. Kelly was responsible for all key messaging, creating a record number of media interviews and public service announcements in her market for television, radio, and print. During her time at BBB kelly received numerous awards including her work during disaster recovery for Hurricane Harvey and an award for the Most Innovative Program Created by BBB.

Seeing a need for ethical leadership Kelly used her experience in Girl Scouts and Better Business Bureau, to create the program- ‘Ethic’s In Action,’ for children in schools and youth groups. The program includes, Online Safety, Everyday Ethics and On My Own, Now What- Finance 101 and Girl Scout Cookie Business Owner Ethics module. The program Kelly created, went on to become the first program to be accepted to use the BBB seal in 105 years and is now being taught to children in the United States, Mexico and Canada, receiving recognition from WE.org, George Takei (Star Trek) and Emmitt Smith (Dallas Cowboys)

Most recently, Kelly brought her innovative approach to the Director of Marketing and Communications position to the Nationally Syndicated Hispanic Radio. Understanding the needs of the Tejano music industry, Kelly helped in bringing a voice to this unique and indigenous culture Tejano music with the syndicated radio program- Tejano Gold Countdown, working with media affiliates across the nation, branding, events, key messaging and public relations. Kelly has served as Board of Director for Armed Forces Disciplinary Control Board, CASA, Corpus Christi Education Foundation, Mayors Council for Education (Corpus Christi), Advisory Council for Aged & Disability, The Builders Association and served as Vice President on the board of American Advertising Federation.
